Chiru raises Rs 40 lakh for flood relief

Prajarajyam Party president Chiranjeevi on Saturday said he was able to raise nearly Rs 40 lakh in the city for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims by collecting donations from the people during his street rallies. Chiranjeevi began his rally at Seetammadhara after meeting party leaders and workers at the PRP office here. The PRP chief alleged that ministers and officials were not co-operating with chief minister K Rosaiah, whom he described as an experienced and efficient administrator. “The CM should deal with such elements with an iron hand,” he told newspersons before starting the rally. On the Greater Hyderabad elections, Chiranjeevi said the PRP would contest all divisions alone, but that he was open to alliance with likeminded parties. “All PRP MLAs are united and stand behind me. There is no question of any one of them deserting me. The party organisational setup cannot happen overnight, it will take several years,” he said.
