The game between India and Pakistan certainly leaved up to the hype created by audience and media as it goes right till the end until India maintained there unbeaten record in the world cup against Pakistan. Now they have five out of five against Pakistan in the World Cup.

India who posted a challenging total of 261 runs for victory for Pakistan bowled and fielded superbly to beat Pakistan by 29 runs and get through to the Final of ICC World Cup 2011.

Indian bowlers bowled exceptionally well after posting a not so much on the board which was beyond the reach of Pakistanis batsmen but they bowled exceptionally well specially Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel, the two bowlers who struggled to get their line and length right throughout the tournament.

Misbah-Ul-Haq was the lone fighter for Pakistan but he consumed too many deliveries to put pressure on the other batsmen to follow and that was the really turning point of the game. He was the last wicket to fall for Pakistan in the 50^th over of an inning.

Indian fielding as compared to Pakistanis was also brilliant and they fielded really well and outclassed the Pakistanis in that department. Pakistan who dropped as many as four easy chances offered by Sachin Tendulkar earlier which ultimately cost them the game.

Indian bowling was also good. The Indians didn’t give away an extra until the 37th over of the innings, and the way they put together strings of dot balls and tight overs was key to their success. Munaf Patel picked up two victims and Yuvraj Singh made up for his golden duck with a pair of wickets, but the most important breakthrough came when Harbhajan Singh bowled Umar Akmal for 29.

Akmal had struck a pair of sixes off Yuvraj, driving him over the sight screen and pulling him over midwicket, and anything was possible while he was at the crease. But Dhoni called on Harbhajan to replace Yuvraj, and with the first ball of his spell he came around the wicket and pushed one across Akmal, taking the off stump when the batsman played for the spin.

Pakistan Captain Shahid Afridi also got out in trying to hit Harbhajan full toss out of the park but in the end manage to sky the ball high in the air to the short cover and that was the end of Pakistan hope to get into the Final.

Earlier Indian Captain M.S.Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first on beautiful batting wicket. Virendra Sehwag (38 runs off 25 balls) gave India a flying start after hitting inform Umar Gul for five fours in an over.

However three quick wickets in the middle overs put Pakistanis right back into the game. But the hero of last game Suresh Raina (36* off 39 balls) played a sensible knock to guide India to a competitive total which was more than enough for the Indians in the end.

Sachin Tendulkar was the highest scorer for the Indians with 85 runs off 115 balls but in this inning he got as many as four straight forward chances put down by Pakistanis fielders.

Now India will Play Sri Lanka in the Final of ICC World Cup 2011 on April 2^nd in Mumbai.

Sachin Tendulkar was declared Player of the Match for his brilliant effort with bat. He scored 85 runs off 115 balls.

Rain in Mohali upsets Indian cricket fans. Weather conditions in Mohali suddenly changed before the big day, India vs Pakistan semi final clash in world cup. Rain is pouring down heavily in Mohali with heavy thunder storm hitting Chandigarh and surroundings.

Mohali weather is playing spoilsport when the cricket frenzy nations are glued for the mouthwatering contest between India and Pakistan in semi finals. As of now the weather conditions are threatening but forecast says that it won’t last until Wednesday afternoon.

If the rain in Mohali continues and the weather doesn’t change until tomorrow, the match will be postponed to the reserve day, that is March 31st. Even if the conditings remain same on that day, the winner would be decided in a one over per side elimination (OOPSE) method if there is any chance of play. Or else it would be heartbreak for Indian fans as Pakistan would move into finals for finishing top in their group table.

Hope this rain doesn’t last until then leaving millions of Indian fans in misery.

It was difficult to not let that affect you, but Tendulkar was in a different sphere. He was trying to save a game, trying to kill time, trying to run through the deficit. He took his time to get to 89, and South Africa tried to cut out boundary-scoring areas. A forward short leg came in, Morne Morkel bowled bouncers – around the helmet area, and into the ribs. Tendulkar kept ducking, the lower ones he kept keeping out; if he was nervous, he wasn’t showing it. Against Paul Harris, who has somehow managed to be India’s nemesis, he hit a straight six to send the crowd into frenzy again.

The chants started again. When at 97, he faced another flurry of bouncers. One of them went for five wides. Ten deliveries he spent on 97. Then came Dale Steyn. He got an inside-edge past midwicket to move to 99. Then he squirted one between cover and extra cover, celebrating as he ran the 100th run. Not extravagantly. The helmet came off, the back arched a bit, and he looked up to the skies.

Tendulkar later spoke of the moment when he reached the milestone. “The first thing obviously I thought of was my father because I wanted to do it for him,” he said. “Yesterday was his birthday, and I would like to dedicate this to him.”

Tendulkar didn’t know what to make of the landmark. Perhaps the match situation – India are on the verge of a defeat despite his and MS Dhoni’s effort – had something to do with it. Perhaps it is taking time to sink in. “I don’t know. I am okay. It’s just another number for me. It’s nice. Obviously I can’t say I am not happy, I am happy. But I don’t know how to express this. It’s good that it has come. Hopefully it doesn’t stop, it continues.”

Tendulkar remembered his first Test that was played against an attack that comprised three greats. He was quick to remind the reporters of Abdul Qadir’s presence too, to go with Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Imran Khan. “It was challenging,” he said. “I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned a lot on that tour and whenever I have played them. It’s been a fantastic contest.”

Tendulkar has had a bumper 2010, this being his seventh Test century to go with the only double-century in the history of ODIs. Of his remarkable form, he said: “Just been batting and enjoying. Sometime you are striking the ball really well and that is when you need to cash in as much as possible. I only try to do that. I felt that the last couple of years I have been moving well. Also the frame of mind. It’s a habit, and once you build that habit, it’s a good habit to carry on tours and back home in India as well.”

Tendulkar also reiterated that records have just happened to come his way while he has been doing what he loves the most. “I am playing for the love of it,” he said. “If I was chasing records, I wouldn’t have missed those one-day matches in between. I have had to pace myself. I thought I was not in top physical condition, and I needed some break and requested the board for the rest so I stay fresh. If I were chasing records, I wouldn’t have done that. Its about producing quality cricket, and that’s what I want to do.”

IPL 2010 Schedule was announced long back by our Lalit Modi . Cricket fans are going to lap this IPL as it is held in India this time. IPL begins on 12 March  and ends on 25 April 10.

Former South African speedster Allan Donald could be the next bowling coach for India. Only recently, MS Dhoni had pleaded to the BCCI for a bowling coach as it would make the job easier for their main coach, Gary Kirstein. Looks like his plea has been heard by the BCCI.

As recently as the Champions League T20, the BCCI is said to have spoken with Donald informally about the job. Donald has also said that the “BCCI recruiters” have confirmed that the process will take some time before it was decided who will coach the side’s flagging bowling.

One hopes that the situation does not turn out to be like the one with Graham Ford. Or like Dav Whatmore. Ford had been interviewed for India’s coaching position but had gone back to his county side to use this as a counter-offer thanks to the board’s callousness.

Then, there had been talks with Whatmore, but he had gone on to talk to the media before anything for formalised, and the Board had backed out at the last minute! One hopes Donald hasn’t made things difficult for himself!
